Happy May, everyone!
Life is blooming, and we are here for it! Our deli has everything you need to be picnic-ready. You bring the basket and blanket, we’ll supply the veggie burgers, quesadillas, and sensational salads for every appetite. And don’t forget to gather fresh organic produce for crunchy crudité platters and a sweet fruit salad. It’s a menu filled with fresh ingredients and phenomenal flavor.
We’ll see you in the store!
With gratitude,
Jerry
Mother’s Day
This Sunday, May 11th, we’ll be celebrating all the moms, grandmas, and caregivers who have given us so much love and so much of their time. We have thoughtful gifts from candles and perfume, to tulips and tote bags. And of course, we also have the freshest ingredients for making them a meal to remember. Serving brunch? Try this savory recipe for Potato and Chard Quiche.
Memorial Day
This Memorial Day, Rising Tide honors those who have made the ultimate sacrifice, and we are thinking of all of those families who have endured such a loss.
Wishing our community a meaningful Memorial Day.
Seasonal Produce
Seasonal Fruits
We have one word for you: Strawberries! They’re the first berries to bloom, and they’re blossoming beautifully. Beyond their sweet flavor, strawberries have vitamin C, fiber, antioxidants, and folic acid. Craft a wow-worthy sweet treat with this recipe for Fresh Strawberry Shortcakes with Yogurt Cream.
Seasonal Veggies
Let’s talk about the radish. Don’t let their small size fool you. This little cruciferous veggie is loaded with vitamin C and antioxidants. Each crunchy bite has a boldly savory, peppery flavor. Add them to your crudité platter, braise them, or roast them with a drizzle of olive oil, salt, and pepper.
Wellness Matters
Gardening For Good Vibes
Did you know that gardening can help reduce stress? Cultivate your calm by getting into your backyard. We can help with our growing collection of organic herbs and plants. Find flavor essentials like basil, mint, and cilantro and garden-ready vegetable plants like carrots and tomatoes.
Sun Safe
Getting outside is a must in this gorgeous weather. Protecting your skin from the sun’s harmful rays is also a must. Grab quality mineral sunscreens from brands like All Good and Badger to ensure that what you’re putting on your body is safe for you and the environment.
Steve’s Supplement Suggestion
We’ve all heard about the benefits of omega-3. From heart health, brain function, eye health, and more, omega-3’s are a powerhouse nutrient. If you’re not getting enough from diet alone, you might want to try a supplement. Steve loves Natural Factors RXOmega-3 Ultra Strength. It’s been molecularly distilled to remove things like mercury and PCBs, and it doesn’t have that unpleasant fishy aftertaste. Give it a try to boost your daily intake!
*Speak with your doctor before incorporating any supplement into your diet.
New Bites And Sips At The Deli
Our kitchen has been busy crafting a new menu item—stuffed avocados. We’ve got two varieties: Shrimp Ceviche and Mediterranean Salad. We only make them when the avocados are ripe and ready to ensure that they’re packed with flavor.
In celebration of spring, we’re making thirst-quenching batches of Strawberry Lemonade all month long. It’s made with alkaline water, organic lemons, organic strawberries, and organic agave. It’s bright, sweet, and just a tad tart.
Smoothie of the Month: Mango Margarita
In honor of Cinco de Mayo and our love for a fabulously blended beverage, we give you May’s Smoothie of the Month: the Mango Margarita. Juicy organic mango is blended with organic orange juice, organic lime juice, and just a touch of sea salt for balance. It’s a sip of spring!
Charity of the Month: North Shore Land Alliance
Concerned about the changing environmental landscape of Long Island, a group of friends founded the North Shore Land Alliance. Beginning in 2003, it has worked to preserve Long Island habitats, including wetlands, green spaces, farmland, historical sites, and groundwater. Through outreach, volunteerism, and education, it has succeeded in protecting over 1,000 acres of land and continues to advocate for the adoption of better conservation laws. Since its founding, it has grown to include over 200 volunteers. To see their work in action, just visit the Shore Road Sanctuary in Cold Spring Harbor, where they’ve transformed a former Exxon Mobil fueling site into eight acres of thriving grassland.

Working at Rising Tide
When it comes to grocery stores, we may be on the smaller side, but what we lack in square footage, we make up for in company culture and teamwork. There’s a reason why our team members know customers’ names, products they prefer, and even what’s going on in their lives. It’s because one of our core hiring principles is finding candidates that are a good match with our culture. Generosity, positivity, and a can-do spirit are some of our top priorities when we hire. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
