IT’S SNACK TO SCHOOL

Let’s talk snacks. With the school year nipping at our heels, it’s time to fill your pantry with snacks that both you and your kids will love. We’re stocked up on brands like Annie’s, which focus on crafting organic snacks without artificial colors or ingredients. More importantly, kids love them. From their fruit snacks to their granola bars to their Cheddar Bunnies and snack mixes, you can satisfy your goal for goodness and your kids’ goal for flavor. We also have a wide variety of gluten-free and allergy-safe options for those kiddos with ingredient restrictions.

While you’re here, shop for well-made reusable lunchbox items like Hydro Flask water bottles and Stasher sandwich and snack bags.

SEASONAL PRODUCE

SEASONAL FRUITS

August is the perfect time to set your sights on melons. We’re talking watermelon, cantaloupe, and honeydew. These sweet, juicy fruits are packed with flavor and yet contain nearly 90% water, so they’re great for keeping you hydrated. They’re also low in calories and nutrient-dense, so they’re a wonderful way to satisfy your sweet tooth without over-indulging. Create a medley of melons by making fruit skewers, craft your own fresh and herby salsa, or cut them up and add them to a salad with additions like mint and feta. Better yet, get them on the grill to add a little char. Here’s a great recipe to use as a guide: Grilled Watermelon and Honeydew Salad.

SEASONAL VEGGIES

Nobody likes to be stuck cooking in a hot kitchen, so get outside and fire up your barbecue. Our produce section is stocked with veggies that do great on the grill, especially bell peppers and summer squash. Slice them up and add them as is or put them onto skewers. Either way, the grill will bring out their natural sweetness while incorporating a touch of smoky char, giving them a more complex flavor. Need ideas? Try this tasty recipe: Grilled Mini Sweet Peppers with Goat Cheese.

WELLNESS MATTERS

If you’ve been taking advantage of the warm weather by being more active, good for you. Give your body an extra boost with Steve’s August Supplement Pick: Metagenics StayStrong+ Joint and Muscle Powder. Designed to mix right into the hot or cold beverage of your choice, the formula is meant to help give you an endurance boost, strength and flexibility support, assist with post-workout recovery, and support better mental energy. A GOOD BITE AT THE DELI

Forgive us if we sound like a broken record, but why spend time in a hot kitchen when you’ve got RT? We’re crafting new dishes all the time, like our Lemon Herb Roasted Chicken. Made with flavorful ingredients like organic lemon and garlic, it’s ready and waiting for your dinner table. While you’re here, pick from any number of sensational sides like the oh-so-summery watermelon feta salad.

SMOOTHIE OF THE MONTH: PIÑA COLADA

Drink up vacay vibes with Rising Tide’s August Smoothie. It’s made with pineapples, pineapple juice, mango, coconut juice, and then topped with a cherry. It’s a chill drink for those hot summer days.

CHARITY OF THE MONTH: COVE ANIMAL RESCUE

Cove Animal Rescue was founded in 2015 on the belief that every animal deserves love, care, and a safe haven. With the help of volunteers, foster families, and supporters, CAR cares for animals in crisis, providing medical treatment, safety, and shelter. Through outreach initiatives, CAR strives to educate the community about various animal welfare issues. While the shelter provides a safe space for animals in need, their ultimate goal for their furry residents is to match them with the perfect furever home, where they can live out their days being cared for and loved.
