March Newsletter 2026

Holy blizzard, what a winter it’s been! We don’t know about you, but we’ve had our fill of shoveling our walkways and digging out our cars. As the weather warms up, there’s nothing better than imagining those snow-covered branches turning into fully formed blooms.

We are willing the warm, sunny weather to stay, so we can open the windows and let in all that fresh air.  In the meantime, get ready for spring by preparing for spring cleaning. Our eco-friendly products can transform your home into a fresh, clean space to welcome spring and summer.

We’ll see you in the store!

With gratitude,

Jerry

HAPPY ST. PATRICK’S DAY

Tuesday, March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day, a holiday to celebrate Ireland’s patron saint. Rising Tide is getting in on the celebration by stocking our shelves with Old Neighborhood Corned Beef Brisket. Nitrite-free and made with only three ingredients: beef, salt, and water, this is a great choice for your holiday celebrations.

We’ll also be carrying Provisions Irish Soda Bread. We know nobody does it like Provisions, so we’re happy to partner with this local artisan bakery for St. Patrick’s Day. But don’t let that keep you from trying your hand at baking your very own version. If you’re looking for a recipe to follow, check out this Irish Soda Bread recipe from Sally’s Baking Addiction.

Let us help you complete your corned beef and cabbage dinner. Come by and get some of our deli’s homemade roasted potatoes. Expertly seasoned, this popular side is a must-have for your table.

SEASONAL PRODUCE

SEASONAL FRUITS

We know the winter months are the time for citrus fruits to really shine, but this month we’re giving a little extra special attention to mandarins. When colds and the flu run rampant and we have to spend so much time indoors, mandarins provide such a great burst of fresh flavor. They give you a taste of nature in every bite. They also arm you with vitamin C, so they’ll help you fight off all that’s going around.

SEASONAL VEGGIES

Given St. Patrick’s Day is around the corner, it’s no surprise that we’ve got our eyes on cabbage this month. It gets top billing in the holiday’s traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage dinner, but this cruciferous veg is so versatile and has a distinctly different flavor depending on whether eaten raw or cooked.

AN EVERLASTING BOUQUET

While you wait for your garden to bloom, incorporate gorgeous color and springtime vibes into your space. Idlewild Floral Co crafts lovely bouquets made using an eco-conscious drying process. They’re a striking accent for your home or office.

WELLNESS MATTERS

Protein seems to be on everyone’s mind. Whether you’re focused on it for weight loss, body composition, or as a way to control blood sugar levels, protein has been getting our customers’ attention. That’s why we’ve brought in some new, thoughtful protein-focused products for you to choose from.

If you’re looking for a satiating snack on-the-go, give Peak’s or Prima’s protein bars a try. Peak uses Irish grass-fed whey as its protein source, and its bars are made without palm oils or sugar alcohols. Prima bars are made from grass-fed tallow, whey, and collagen and also have no seed oils or gluten. Both will give you a hit of protein so you can keep your energy up while you’re out and about.

Another protein-focused product will transform your pasta night. It’s Brami’s Protein Pasta. It’s made from semolina durum wheat and lupini beans, so it makes a great vegetarian protein source that’s also packed with fiber. For those of you carnivores out there, don’t forget about D’Artagnan’s Grass-Fed Sirloin Steak. With no hormones or antibiotics, it’s an exceptional choice for your dinner table.

STEVE’S SUPPLEMENT SUGGESTION

Recovery after exercising is an important part of any fitness routine. If the warmer weather has gotten you back into your running, biking, or lifting workout, you’ll want to make sure you are supporting your body’s efforts. Creatine can help aid in lean muscle mass, increased exercise performance, and faster exercise recovery. Steve recommends Life Extensions’ non-GMO monohydrate Creatine Powder*. Just scoop this easy-to-mix supplement into your beverage of choice after your workout.

*As with any supplement, consult your doctor before taking.

SMOOTHIE OF THE MONTH: POT OF GOLD

Cheers to good health and a bit of luck with our Pot of Gold smoothie. The magic of ginger, pineapple, mango, and orange juice creates a flavor that will charm your taste buds.

CHARITY OF THE MONTH: COALITION TO SAVE HEMPSTEAD HARBOR

Over the past 40 years, the Coalition to Save Hempstead Harbor has worked relentlessly to rally the public’s interest in restoring the harbor to its full ecological potential. Their efforts have brought about a Citizen’s Water Monitoring Program, Shellfish Restoration Projects, Beach Cleanups, and more. What began in 1986 has grown exponentially and helped lead to successes such as improvements in water quality, increases in the quantity and diversity of marine life, and the recertification of 2,500 acres of shellfish beds for harvesting.

WORKING AT RISING TIDE

When it comes to grocery stores, we may be on the smaller side, but what we lack in square footage, we make up for in company culture and teamwork. There’s a reason why our team members know customers’ names, products they prefer, and even what’s going on in their lives. It’s because one of our core hiring principles is finding candidates who are a good match with our culture. Generosity, positivity, and a can-do spirit are some of our top priorities when we hire.
