JULY 2025
Summer is in full swing! That means time on the beach, in the pool, and at the grill. It also means high temperatures and hair-curling humidity. Maybe that’s why, outside of sunscreen and bug spray, we’ve got hydration on our minds. It’s vital to replenish what’s been lost. Water is amazing, but it’s also nice to give our taste buds a treat. That’s why we’ve stocked up on drinks that not only hydrate but taste outstanding, and have bonuses like added electrolytes, potassium, and more.
Talking about beverages, if you’re trying to cut back on alcohol, but still want to feel festive at your next barbecue, grab some Mingle Mocktails and tonic sodas. Cheers to going alcohol free.
We’ll see you in the store!
With gratitude,
Jerry
Seasonal Produce
Seasonal Fruits
There is such a bounty of seasonal fruit in July, from cantaloupe to grapes, that it’s impossible to highlight just one. With so many varieties available, it’s the perfect time for making yourself some fruit salad. Pay special attention to stone fruits this month: nectarines, plums, apricots, and peaches. The stone in “stone fruit” refers to their hard-as-a-rock pits. They’re also known for being rich in nutrients and antioxidants. So they might satisfy your sweet tooth, but you need not feel any guilt while eating them. Then again, a sinful summer dessert is sometimes necessary. And when it is, we invite you to make Ashley’s Easy Peasy Peach Tart. She swears it’s foolproof!
Seasonal Veggies
As plentiful as your seasonal fruit plate is, your vegetable platter will be just as full. Greens, summer squash, bell peppers… they’re all ripe for picking. However, we’ve got our eye on the unsuspecting green bean. This vitamin-rich veg is as tasty on your tray of crudité as it is on your dinner table. Incorporating green beans into your diet can also help you maintain strong bones and a healthy heart.
Not convinced? Try this herby, bright green bean salad recipe from the food blog, The Kitchen is my Playground. The dressing includes lots of fresh mint, so it’s a sensational summer side dish.
Wellness Matters
Steve’s Supplement Suggestion
This month, Steve’s been thinking about collagen. According to the Cleveland Clinic, “collagen provides structure, support or strength to your skin, muscles, bones and connective tissues.” There are five different types in our body. Type I makes up about 90% of our body’s collagen and provides structure to skin, bones, tendons, and ligaments. Type II provides joint support. Type III is located around our muscles, arteries, and organs. Type IV is found in our skin. Type V is in the cornea of our eyes, in our skin, hair, and even in the placenta. As we age, we not only produce less collagen, but what we do make is lower quality than what we produced in our younger years.
If you’re looking for a collagen supplement, one brand that Steve, along with many of our customers, loves is *Natural Factors’ Total Body Multi Collagen Protein. Available at an everyday low price, it’s a powder that can be added to water, the drink of your choice, or a smoothie. It also includes all five different types of collagen. Steve loves it for the joint support it provides and for the amount of protein a serving contains—a whopping 10 grams. Even better, all of Natural Factors’ supplements are **certified to be non-GMO, tested for nearly 700 contaminants (including pesticides and herbicides), adulterant-free, authentic, and accurately labeled.
*Speak with your doctor before incorporating any supplement into your diet.
** Certification by ISURA, a natural health supplement and food product verification and certification non-profit.

Working At Rising Tide
When it comes to grocery stores, we may be on the smaller side, but what we lack in square footage, we make up for in company culture and teamwork. There’s a reason why our team members know customers’ names, products they prefer, and even what’s going on in their lives. It’s because one of our core hiring principles is finding candidates that are a good match with our culture. Generosity, positivity, and a can-do spirit are some of our top priorities when we hire. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!
